Redistricting to Return to County Board Tuesday

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will again discuss redistricting next week.

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will have another chance to select new boundaries at its meeting Tuesday.

The board is scheduled to discuss the redrawing and balancing of its district boundaries, required after each decennial census.

District 5, which includes Rosemont and is represented by Supervisor Don Nottoli, grew faster than other areas and has some 70,000 people too many. It now must shrink, and Rosemont could be moved into another district.

Most of the plans now leave Rosemont in its current district, but one proposal would have it switch to District 3, which includes Carmichael and is currently represented by Supervisor Susan Peters.
