RHS 'Run to Feed the Hungry' Team Swells

Rosemont High School raised more money than any other public school.

During last week's annual , had the third largest team in attendance.

, the school registered for the charity run to benefit the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services; this time around, 122 people signed up.

"RHS had the third largest team behind St. Francis High School who had 340 registered, and Wells Fargo Bank who paid for their employees' registration," Rosemont High School Activities Director Chris Gosney said in an email. "On Thanksgiving Day, we raised more money for the Sacramento Food Bank than any other public school in the Sacramento area!"

Over the past three years, the Wolverines have raised more than $15,000 for the food bank, Gosney said.

Gosney thanked Jeff Lane of Jostens, who has donated $750 each year to reduce registration costs, and Jeff Champ of NextLevel Sportswear, who provided screen printing "on the back of our team shirts at 50 percent of the actual cost."

Gosney said next year, the team is aiming for 175 people.
