Rosemont-Area Caregiver Honored by County
Charles Allen, who lives just north of Rosemont, was honored last week.
Charles Allen found his calling helping out a friend of a friend, a task that led to him working as a caregiver for 13 years.
Sacramento County last week paid homage to its in-home caregivers, including Allen, who lives just north of Rosemont. The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors declared November "Caregivers Month" in a ceremony Tuesday.
Allen was quoted in a news release as saying he continues to work as a paid caregiver because of “how good it feels to know that you are helping someone else.”

He started off helping his grandmother and father when he was young, before he even considered becoming a full-time caregiver. Since then, he's helped people with a variety of medical conditions, according to the news release. He said the hardest part of his job is coping with the death of someone he's cared for.
“I worked for a client for six years and he and I became real tight," Allen was quoted as saying. "It was hard to deal with when he passed away.”
