Sacramento County to Appoint New Ag Commissioner
Juli Jensen is likely to be named Sacramento County's new Agricultural Commissioner and Director of Weights And Measures next week.
Nearly four months after a successor has been found.
Juli Jensen, who currently serves in that position for Sacramento and El Dorado counties and is a former Sacramento County Deputy Agricultural Commissioner, is scheduled to be appointed by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors at their Wednesday meeting.
The commissioner's office, , ensures gas stations pumps and grocery store scales are accurate, fights and performs other duties.

"The County of Sacramento is fortunate to have the opportunity to appoint Juli Jensen as Agricultural Commissioner and Director of Weights and Measures," a staff report read. "The county will greatly benefit from her experience and knowledge in the field of agriculture and weights and measures."
Jensen, who has worked in the field for 29 years and is an alumnus of U.C. Davis, was picked from a field of three finalists, according to the staff report. If the supervisors confirm her appointment, it will become official the following day, Oct. 13.

Her starting base salary will be $110,748, county spokeswoman Kerri Aiello said. Jensen's final day with El Dorado County is Friday, Aiello said.
