Shots Fired in High-Speed Chase

Gunshots exchanged between suspected car thieves and law enforcement near Rosemont.

Two suspects were arrested this morning after leading law enforcement officers on a car chase through South Sacramento, exchanging gunshots near Folsom Boulevard and Jackson Road.

According to KFBK and News 10, the chase started in Arden-Arcade near Whitney and Watt avenues around 8 a.m. after CHP tried stopping a dark-colored pickup truck.  Officers followed the vehicle south on Watt at speeds reaching 70 miles per hour before exchanging gunfire with the suspects near the intersection of Jackson Road and Folsom Boulevard.

Officers continued chasing the vehicle along Florin-Perkins Road until the suspects fled the pickup near French and Gerber roads.  The suspects hid in a field until surrendering to officers from CHP and the Sacramento County Sheriff Department around 10 a.m.
