Join us this winter for a fun Family Storytime at Sunrise Mall, next to the movie theaters. We’ll have stories, songs, felt boards, games, crafts, stay & play and more.

Family Storytimes @ Sunrise Mall Story Stop (family/all ages)
Thursdays, 11 a.m.
December: 4, 11, 18
January: 8, 15, 22, 29
February: 5, 12, 19, 26

The storytimes are led by Janet Wininger, a youth services librarian at the Sylvan Oaks Library. They will run through February 2015 while the Sylvan Oaks Community Room is being renovated.

“It’s an opportunity for Sacramento Public Library to introduce our early childhood programs and services to families who are not current library users, and expand our reach into the wider community” said Christie Hamm, manager of Youth and Community Services at Sacramento Public Library.

The Poodlums
Music with the Poodlums @ Sunrise Mall Story Stop
Third Wednesday of the month, 4 p.m.

Join us for a fantastic performance by Anne and Jason of the Poodlums. The duo headlined the Summer Reading Kickoff at the Central Library in June.

Sensory Storytimes
Sensory Storytime @ Sunrise Mall Story Stop (family/all ages)
Third Saturday of the month, 10:30 a.m.
Dec. 20, Jan. 17
Wininger will also offer special storytimes for kids with autism and/or sensory disorders featuring books, music, fidget toys, crafts and more. The mother of a young adult son with autism, Wininger founded the library’s Sensory Storytimes in 2011. Noise and/or behaviors are not a problem. Please note: Visitors may also sign up and receive a library card, though the Mall location does not offer any materials for check-out.
