Three notable authors will be visiting our libraries in April and May. Copies of books will be available for purchase at each event. Central Library
April 14
“The Art of War Visualized,” with author Jessica Hagy
Join the cartoonist for a discussion of “The Art of War Visualized,” her illustrated adaptation of Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War.” Hagy aims to “shake 2,500 years of dust” off of this revered text by summarizing its theories into 300 easy-to-understand charts and diagrams to show that the philosopher’s ideas are relevant to “every hassle you’ve had in your life.”

“My Organic Life” with Nora Pouillon
Pouillon’s memoir spans 40 years of culinary history. It’s the personal story of a leader of the organic food revolution who has sought to change people’s relationship with food. The chef and restaurateur will discuss her journey from a farm in the Alps to becoming one of Washington D.C.’s most celebrated chefs.

Meet Robert Pacholik, author of “Night Flares: Six Tales of the Vietnam War”
Rancho Cordova Library

Robert Pacholik served two tours as a combat photographer in the Vietnam War in 1968 and 1969. His book is a hybrid, combing six short stories with nonfiction sections. “Night Flares” is a Bronze Medal Award winner of the Military Writers Society of America.
