Carman said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but suspect the fire may have started in a container in the garage. They believe the fire started in the garage and traveled to the attic. Firefighters had to strip the top layer of the roof, which was metal, to reach the bottom layer of cedar shakes burning underneath, Carman said.
No other injuries were reported. The fire was contained and did not reach any neighboring structures.
A total of 35 firefighters and two ambulances responded to the call.
