All Bow to Nixtaco + Recruiting PRL Ambassadors + HWY 50 Opening
Here's the latest on what's happening in Roseville, delivered straight to your inbox.

Rise and shine, Roseville!
It's great to be back with you all, making sure you know all the important stuff to get this Tuesday started off right. My family and I had an amazing time camping in some of our beautiful Nor Cal places (how lucky are we to live here?!). I want to give a huge thanks to Jeri Karges of the Sacramento Daily for stepping in while I was away. I knew you all would be in good hands with her.
Let's get to it!

First, today's weather:

The calendar says Autumn starts on Wednesday, but the summer temps are not going away gracefully. The expected high today is 95 degrees with a low tonight of 64. Winds should be light at 4-6 mph and the humidity should be a nice low 24% during the day.
Here are the top stories today in Roseville:
- Nixtaco is gaining national attention thanks to this article (really more of an ode) by a Bay Area food and drink editor. Even if you already know how amazing the cuisine is at this little Roseville treasure, read the article anyway for the cool background info on owner/chef Patricio Wise. (SF Gate)
- The City of Roseville is looking for people who LOVE our Roseville parks, libraries and recreational opportunities to be part of a new PRL Ambassador program. Help inform and shape the future of these programs by being the "eyes and ears" while you do what you already love doing out in the community. Sign up as a possible volunteer on the city's interest list and plan to attend the soon-to-be-scheduled orientation. (City of Roseville)
- Highway 50 is scheduled to fully reopen to motorists this morning by 8:00 am, nearly a month after the route was closed due to destruction caused by the Caldor Fire. Residents of the area were allowed in yesterday to prepare for the reopening. Drivers are asked to remain cautious while travelling through as crews and heavy machinery are still at work clearing and assessing the area. (Gold Country Media)
- A new report from Insurify.com lists Rancho Cordova and Citrus Heights drivers as the "rudest" in the nation. Ouch. The distinction was awarded after analysis from the company's “database of over 4 million car insurance applications in 2021” that tallied a list of inconsiderate driving infractions. Maybe safer to stay in Roseville for now. (Fox40)
- Four famous trees in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park, called "The Four Guardsmen" as they stand along the road to the park entrance, remain unharmed by the KNP Complex fire that neared the edge of the park last week. Fire crews were able to protect the trees by clearing brush around their bases and by wrapping their trunks in fire-resistant material. (CBS Sacramento)
