John Adams Academy (JAA), is celebrating Constitution Week September 17th - 21st. Congressman Tom McClintock will visit JAA to help kick off the week with a Constitution Day assembly at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 17th.
The student-directed assembly will include an address by Congressman McClintock, recitation of the Preamble to the Constitution by sixth-grade classes, musical numbers by the JAA choir, a radio show on the Bill of Rights by Mrs. Jensen's scholars and recitation of the Declaration of Independence by eighth-grade scholar, A.J. Mersereau. Mrs. Brown's fourth-grade class provided the artwork and backdrop for the assembly.
On Tuesday, September 18th, Joshua Charles, co-author of the #1 New York Times Bestselling book The Original Argument: The Federalists’ Case for the Constitution will meet with scholars in grades 6 - 11. Parents and community members are invited to attend a special evening presentation on the Constitution of the United States by Charles on Thursday, September 20th, beginning at 7 PM. Elementary grade scholars (grades K-5) will celebrate Constitution Week with projects, lessons and activities in their individual classes. Many classes have also memorized the Preamble to the Constitution in preparation for Constitution Day.
Celebrating Constitution week is one of many ways the school works to fulfill its mission of developing student leaders and restoring America's heritage. Serving approximately 700 kindergarten through 11th grade scholars from the communities of Loomis, Lincoln, Rocklin, Roseville and the Greater Sacramento area, JAA provides a classical leadership education emphasizing mentors and core values for approximately.
