The Centennial Yearbooks have arrived!
As part of the Centennial Celebration activities, the RHS Alumni Association captured and preserved some of the rich history and traditions of Roseville High School. An historical perspective is documented in a hard bound, 104-page book which describes the journey of a school that started in an old Southern Pacific hotel building, the Golden Eagle Saloon and Lodging House on Vernon Street, to its current location at 1 Tiger Way.
Of course, the school didn’t exist by itself in Roseville, so part of the historical narrative also includes events and activities that occurred in Roseville as well as those that affected us on a national scale. Several wars occurred, styles have come and gone, traditions and architectural styles have changed, and growth has occurred. Through all of the changes, at least one thing has stayed consistent, the desire to provide a stimulating and enriching educational environment to Roseville High School students.

The RHS Alumni Association will have a merchandise booth at the upcoming Sylvia Besana Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday, November 17th. We ask that you stop by the booth between the hours of 5 – 9pm, browse through a yearbook on display and consider purchasing one for yourself, or as a gift for someone else.
Since you’ll be in the area, be sure to arrive early enough to watch the Holiday Parade. The RHS Alumni Association Centennial float is entered and represents a 100th birthday celebration. According to the Roseville Chamber of Commerce website, the Holiday Parade starts at 3pm, with the parade route starting at the intersection of Riverside/Vernon/Douglas Streets, proceeds East along Vernon Street, turns right at Folsom Boulevard, and ends behind Roseville Square Shopping Center. The Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration is from 6:30 – 8:30pm.

As the 2012 portion of the Centennial Celebration comes to an end, the Centennial Celebration Committee extends a heartfelt thank you to the many volunteers who willingly and cheerfully helped with the Centennial Celebration weekend events, and to those who staffed the many merchandise booths during the past six months. Additionally, we thank the City of Roseville for their great cooperation during the past several months, to City Council and to Mayor Pauline Roccucci, to the Roseville Joint Union High School District, and to the many financial and in-kind supporters whose generous contributions made the Centennial Celebration activities possible.
As we close out this year, we wish you and yours a Happy Holiday season.
And remember, “Once a tiger, always a tiger!”
