Roseville Firemen Rescue the Day for Hospitalized Boy

When five-year-old Everett Chilton arrived in the Emergency Department at Sutter Roseville Medical Center in the middle of the night and admitted to the Pediatric Unit, he was upset that he would miss the next day’s field trip with his school.

Everett was really looking forward to his Creekside Oaks Elementary class visiting the local Lincoln Fire Department.  Upon hearing Everett’s despair, nurses in the medical center’s  Pediatric unit scrambled to connect with one of the fire departments to see if firemen would come and visit the boy.

The next day, firemen from Roseville Fire Department Station 6 arrived in Everett’s hospital room, bringing a child-size fireman’s helmet for Everett to keep.  Firemen Tony LaPlante, Rich Lawshe and Glenn Asbell gathered around Everett’s bed and talked to him about being a fireman and about the fire station.  No doubt about it—these firemen really rescued little Everett’s day!
