Family Displaced After Roseville Apartment Fire

No one injured during two-story fire Thursday at Heritage Park Apartments

A family of three is left without a home after their Heritage Park Apartment in West Roseville caught fire yesterday morning.

No one was injured during the blaze that caused an estimated $166,000 in damage, according to Cpt. Jamie Pepin, with the Roseville Fire Department. However, a pet cat was lost. 

The cause of the fire is not yet known. Officials are investigating what ignited the fire that started in one of the bedrooms of the two bedroom apartment, said Jeff Ignolia, Roseville fire investigator.

The first floor apartment is now unlivable from the damage and the residents are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

"The fire department was able to extinguish (the fire) quickly and it was limited to that unit," relayed Brian Jacobson, interim public information officer for the City of Roseville. "They were able to quickly get it under control and keep it from spreading to the neighboring apartments."

The fire began at 10:38 a.m. Just after firefighters arrival, Roseville police evacuated people from the building's second floor. 

Four engines and three chief officers responded initially to the scene. A total of 22 personnel responded to the scene. Assistance was also provided by American Medical Response.
