- We're not out of the weather woods yet, Roseville. Fortunately, the city is continuing to monitor the situation. "Roseville Electric crews are on standby to respond quickly to power outages [and] city crews are also on standby to respond to localized street flooding and road hazards." If you would like to monitor the level and flow of the creeks, you can do so at this website: roseville.ca.us/stream. (roseville.ca.us)
- If you live in Rocklin, you can also be storm-aware at the city website. You'll learn how you "can best prepare for the season and lessen the impact of storms." The city has provided phone numbers, sandbag locations and other vital information for you. (rocklin.ca.us)
- Ready to shake up your usual reading genre? Placer Library has a program for youth and adults age 17+ called the Book Bingo Challenge. “The goal is to encourage adults to try something new or shake up their reading habits in the New Year,” said Felicia Black, Placer’s systemwide programming librarian. It's played just like Bingo, with 25 squares for you to fill in with different types of books. Sounds like a fun way to pass the hours while the storms are keeping us inside! (placer.ca.us)
- A man wanted for injury to two individuals near Pilot Hill in El Dorado County was found dead in the south fork of the American River, after the storm swelled the river. The investigation into how the man died is ongoing. (Gold Country Media)
