Blog: Help the Children's Tumor Foundation With Fiesta Night
Fiesta Night will be held Oct. 21 in Roseville and will raise funds for a local man to participate in a Neurofibromatosis race. His 3-year-old daughter is battling a debilitating spinal tumor.

We need your help! The Children’s Tumor Foundation is a non-profit that works tirelessly to find a cure for Neurofibromatosis (NF). Our dear friend, Andrew Lowell, is a local father with a heartbreaking story about his daughter, 3-year-old Eva, and her battle with a debilitating spinal tumor.
We want you to partner with him and his family to help better the lives of children battling with tumors all over the nation. Please read Andrew’s story below and let us know if you would like to participate in a Fiesta Night on Oct. 21 for a NF Endurance race that he is participating in Dec. 4 to raise funds for this cause.

My daughter Ava was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis (NF) at 6 months of age. After her first MRI it was discovered she has a tumor in her spine. NF causes tumors to grow along nerves, nerve sheaths, and non-nervous tissue such as bones and skin, anywhere in the body. These tumors can choke off organs and blood supplies. About one-half of the people with NF have learning disabilities.
If the tumor my daughter has in her spine grows any larger, she will lose motor development and/or skills and may suffer from any number of complications. There is no treatment or cure for her.

Ava has to have MRI’s every three months to monitor the growth of her tumor. She is only 3 years old. We do this not only to find a cure and/or treatment for her but for all of the other children we have met through this organization with this disorder. Because of the Children’s Tumor Foundation Ava can look forward to the future.
For Ava, I would run to the end of the world if it meant a cure.
