Centennial Celebration Weekend - Date Change and New Information!
Updates and changes to the Centennial Weekend events!

Don’t be alarmed – we have schedule changes!!
As we roll into the final days before our Centennial Celebration weekend and continue to refine the specific details of our events, we have realized our initial plans for Open Campus Day create a bit of a logistics problem for the Roseville High School students who are preparing for and will be attending the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, September 15th. And we all remember the memories of Homecoming, along with the amount of time it takes to prepare for the dance!
The date for Open Campus Day has been re-scheduled for Sunday, September 16th from 10am – 1pm. Having both the Open Campus Day and the Centennial Picnic on Sunday, September 16th provides a double opportunity for the community to come out and enjoy a full day recognizing the 100th anniversary of the high school and school district. Start by taking a tour of the campus, see student displays and exhibits at the high school, hear a variety of music, and watch an historic slide show to see the changes that have occurred in Roseville and on campus. This slide show is a great way to be reminded about how much progress has happened during the past 100 years!

After visiting the high school, stroll over to Woodbridge Park and join the festivities there! Either bring your own picnic lunch or purchase a meal from George Carreras who will have his famous bar-b-que grill going and will provide a scrumptious lunch of tri-tip sandwich and sides for the very reasonable price of $10. Additionally, for the kids and for smaller appetites, he will have chicken and/or beef on a stick available. Nothing Bundt Cakes will be on-site to helpsatisfy your sweet tooth cravings.
For the kids, there will be a small “kid activity area” set up near the playground. Simple activities, such as coloring, will be available. From noon – 2pm, the Roseville Fire Department will have a fire truck on-site and parked near the kid activity area. Kids will be allowed to visit with the fireman and get a close-up look of the fire truck.

We know that some people have not seen former classmates for a very long time. And let’s face it, if we take off our rose colored glasses, do any of us look like we did when we were in high school?! Doubtful! To help visitors find a starting place, there will be large signs posted strategically in the park. The signs will have a range of dates, for example, 1912 - 1939, 1960 – 1979, and will cover the entire 100 year period. We aren't forgetting our favorite teachers! There will also be a sign to serve as a gathering point for teachers. Besides being decorative, the signs can serve as an initial gathering spot and help people find and/or re-connect with friends they haven’t seen for a while.
A centennial merchandise table will be set-up at both the high school and in the park. If you haven’t done so yet, this is your opportunity to purchase a centennial yearbook and other merchandise such as T-shirts, blankets, hats, visors and more.
Many people have commented about how much they love the banners on Vernon Street. Wouldn’t you love to have one? At both the Open Campus Day and the Centennial Picnic, we will be holding a “Banner Raffle”! Ticket sales will occur at the merchandise tables – be sure to stop by and purchase your banner raffle tickets.
People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics to the park. No glass containers are allowed. Parking is limited around the park. Volunteers will direct all visitors to park in one of the high school parking lots.
