Oakmont Cross Country Runners Shine at Maidu League Race

Maidu Park, Roseville, CA

Oakmont's cross country team came on strong in the Capital Valley Conference League's first meet of the season held in 90 degree temperatures Wednesday at Maidu Community Park.  

Oakmont Frosh/Soph runners Logan Taggart, Christian Wolfolk and Tanner Moore finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd to take first team.  Fellow runners Jonathan Weinberg and Josiah Reynolds turned in 11th and 12th position finishes.

Karlie Garcia and Marisa Carino finished 2nd and 3rd to propel the girl's varsity team to second behind Bella Vista with Mika Davidan and Kylie Michaels placing 13th and 14th.  Freshman Whitney Lelis broke the tape 20th to round out the team's points total.

Varsity boys saw Ian Miller take 14th with Austin Taggart at 16th for a 4th overall team finish.

Megan Burns was 3rd with Jenna Bowles crossing the line 10th in the Frosh/Soph team race where the team did not have the required 5 entries to field a team.
