- All police officers in Roseville will now be wearing body cameras, Chief of Police Troy Bergstrom announced Wednesday. In July 2021, the Roseville City Council approved a $750,000 contract with the LensLock body camera company. The contract will last five years. “Implementing this program is another positive step in strengthening our relationship with those we serve," Bergstrom said. (CBS Sacramento)
- Check this out! Rocklin made Money Magazine's "50 Best Places To Live" list, coming in at number 43 in the nation! Cities ranging from a population of 25,000 up to 500,000 were rated on metrics like cost of living, economic opportunity, diversity, education, health, safety, housing market, and quality of life. The magazine highlighted Rocklin's top-rated schools and recreational activities like the new Quarry Park as reasons for their high placement. Way to go, Rocklin! (CBS Sacramento)
- The Bridge Fire is now 100% contained according to Cal Fire NEU. The fire burned 411 acres, all within about the first 48 hours, and no structures were threatened. The Auburn State Recreation Area remains closed in some areas, including Mammoth Bar OHV Area (all trails), Old Foresthill Road, Lower Lake Clementine, Culvert Trail, Lake Clementine Trail, Connector Trail from Doc Gordon’s to Lower Lake Clementine Road, Fuel Break Trail and Confluence Trail. - The Sacramento Aloha Festival is coming to Auburn this Saturday for its 10th anniversary! This is a new venue for this festival. The previous nine festivals have been held at Cal Expo. Festival organizer Pam Akina said "The environment is kind of more like a village atmosphere. I just think it’s going to work really well for us.” The Aloha Festival will be a day of entertainment, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and include several Polynesian merchandise vendors, a building dedicated to kids activities, children’s hula performances and, of course, loads of food! - The Rotary Club of El Dorado Hills has opted to shelve its scheduled wine event to instead host a pasta dinner fundraiser for the victims of the Caldor Fire. The Caldor Fire Recovery Drive-Thru Fundraiser will take place 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2. The event will feature a take-home meal with spaghetti and meatballs, Caesar salad, garlic bread and dessert. There will be a “sealed bid” auction and beer and wine available for purchase to take home. Tickets are $25 per plate or a family meal for $80, available online only at caldorfundraiser.eventbrite.com. (Village Life)

- You can still call him Governor. Despite warnings the race would be close, Gov. Gavin Newsom handily defeated efforts to recall him, boosted by healthy turnout among an overwhelmingly Democratic electorate.
- The family of Sgt. Nicole Gee, USMC will be holding a public memorial service for her at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 18 at Bayside Church Adventure Campus in Roseville. Sgt. Gee lost her life, along with 12 other U.S. service members, in Kabul, Afghanistan. (Facebook)
- What would you call a 21-and-over event to benefit the summer reading program at the Roseville Public Library? Why, Tequila Mockingbird, of course! The event will Include all-you-can-enjoy literary-themed cocktails, great food, and fun games. Raffle, silent auction, beer, and non-alcoholic mock-tails will also be available. The event will take place on Saturday September 25th.
