Here are the top five stories today in Roseville:
- Hikers and campers will again have access to most of the areas in the Eldorado National Forest that have been closed since the Caldor Fire ripped through there last year. The Forest Service also reopened the dirt roads and trails that are regularly closed for the snow season Friday. Visitors to these areas should still practice caution as some areas are still wet. For a list of the trails and recreation sites that remain closed for ongoing hazard mitigation, click on the article link. (Gold Country Media)
- Country music fans are going to get their own multi-stage festival in Sacramento the weekend of October 15-16. The GoldenSky Country Music Festival, organized by Aftershock creator Danny Wimmer Presents, will bring top artists from the country scene, feature farm-to-fork cuisine and local craft beers, offer mechanical bull rides and provide a dance hall saloon where patrons can scoot their boots. Check back for more information as it becomes available. (The Music Universe)
- Holy bouncing bambinos! The Big Bounce America 2022 Tour just landed at the Bradley Ranch Winery in Elk Grove with 16,000 square feet of bounce house nirvana. There is something here for everyone who wants to get airborne as age groups are separated for safety. You can take the drive down to Elk Grove if you’re raring to go now, or wait a few weeks for a similar inflatable wonderland from FunBox to pop up at the Westfield Galleria in Roseville. The Roseville event doesn't have an opening date yet, but our contact at the Galleria says it will be landing in April. (KCRA 3)
- Sacramento’s dreams of hosting a Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise were dashed last year, but all is not lost, according to Sacramento Republic FC owner Kevin Nagle. Nagle is determined to build a permanent stadium in the downtown Railyards development - whether or not the city gets into the MLS. The Republic currently competes in the United Soccer League, considered the second division (behind MLS) of professional soccer in the United States. Find out more and take a look at the design rendering of the proposed stadium in this article. (FOX 40)
