  1. If you were unable to attend the Community Vigil for fallen Roseville Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee on Tuesday night, Channel 3 had great coverage of the event, complete with video of the heartfelt ceremony. Gee, along with 12 other U.S. service members, was killed in the suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan last week. (KCRA 3)
  2. To follow up on the incident in Roseville on Tuesday involving the self-inflicted stabbing victim, the case appears to be an isolated incident that poses no continuing threat to the neighborhood or the community, according to Roseville Police Department Public Information Officer Rob Baquera. Police have interviewed all persons they believe were involved and have not taken anyone into custody. The department is waiting on a toxicology report to determine if drug use was a factor. (Phone Interview)
  3. Firefighters battling the Caldor Fire got a break yesterday as Red Flag Warning conditions failed to materialize in the Sierra. As of yesterday afternoon, Cal Fire officials reported 20% containment of the blaze. With calmer weather predicted for the coming days, fire crews hope to "gain the upper hand" on what is now ranked as the 17th largest wildfire in California history. (Gold Country Media)
  4. Pacific Gas & Electric is selling off its San Francisco campus to the tune of $800 million. The good new is that $400 million of those proceeds will be returned to PG&E's customers over a 5-year period. It's all part of the energy giant's move to reduce overhead and renew "broader commitment to implement changes for the long-term benefit of its customers and communities." The San Francisco operations will move across the Bay to a new base in Oakland. (Sierra Sun Times)
