Candidates for 6 Month Braces
6-month braces work faster than traditional braces, but not everyone is a candidate for this treatment.

Six month braces are designed to correct minor bite irregularities in less time than what is required for treatment with regular braces. Consisting of brackets and wires, six month braces are adaptable to a broad range of treatment requirements and use smaller amounts of force, increasing comfort significantly.
Who Is a Candidate?
Although six month braces can be used by a majority of patients, this treatment cannot address all types of bite irregularities. Crowding, overbite, asymmetry, and overlapping can often be corrected with six month braces. However, an exam by our Rocklin orthodontist is necessary to confirm whether six month braces are an option for specific issues.
How Do Six Month Braces Work?
Six month braces treatment begins with an exam during which our orthodontist takes X-rays, bite impressions, and photos for use in designing a personalized plan. After patients are fitted with the brackets and wires, they return periodically to have their wires tightened. When correction is complete, our orthodontist removes the wires and brackets and patients can begin enjoying their newly straightened teeth.
Although six months is the average length of treatment with these braces, total treatment time can vary between four and nine months depending on individual needs. At a consultation with our expert in 6 month braces in Rocklin, patients can learn more about this treatment and find out if they are candidates to receive it.
