Celebrate National Night Out Aug. 7 in Roseville
Get to know your neighbors at this annual crime prevention night.

Roseville will celebrate National Night Out this year on Tuesday, Aug. 7 with barbecues and block parties in an effort to strengthen neighborhood spirit.
Teams from both the and will be making stops at neighborhood parties that night. The idea behind National Night Out, a 29-year tradition, is to spread awareness on the importance of Neighborhood Watch programs, crime prevention and creating a positive police and community member relationship.
Last year, , ice cream socials and get-togethers to celebrate National Night Out.

More than 15,000 communities from all 50 states in the U.S. participated in last year's event, according to the National Night Out website. In 2012, more than 37 million people participated in National Night Out, including residents from Roseville.
