Celebrate PlacerGROWN Week at Fountains Farmers Market Tuesday
The celebration will kick off with cooking demos at the Fountains at Roseville farmers market.

In an attempt to encourage residents to eat and buy local, the Placer County Board of Supervisors has named this week Celebrate PlacerGROWN Week.
How can you celebrate? The celebration kicks off Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Fountains at Roseville farmers market. In addition to the farm-fresh, in-season Placer County produce, fresh breads, wood-fired pizzas and other local goods, they'll hold cooking demonstrations from 10 a.m. to noon. The Foothill Farmers Market at the Fountains runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays in the parking lot near Whole Foods Market.
The week-long celebration continues with the Auburn Wine & Food Festival from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 (more information is available at www.auburnwineandfood.com) and the Farm & Barn Open House from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. The open house is a free event that includes self-guided tours of 15 Placer County farms, ranches and vineyards. They'll have tours, fruit sampling, wine tasting, live music and more. More information is available at www.placerfarmandbarntour.com.
