Here are the top five stories in Roseville today:
- Jesuit Alumni, Daniel Susac was a first round draft choice by the Oakland A's! "The best word to describe me is 'leader.' That's the way I try to embody myself as a player. I'm not only going to try to get the most out of myself, but I'm going to try to get the most out of all my teammates," Susac said. The A's, for their part, tweeted "We got a good one" with a picture of Susac. Way to go Daniel! (ABC10.com KXTV)
- The city Of Roseville is currently accepting applications for many of the pre-K and preschool locations for fall enrollment! "Each of our sites provide children with a caring and engaging environment in which to learn and grow," according to officials. Pre-K sessions start on September 7 and run Monday, Wednesday and Friday. (Press Release Desk)
- The Roseville City Council released another $1 million in ARPA funds to the Roseville Grants Advisory Commission for distribution to the Roseville community. Applications for this funding opened Monday and are due to the city by 5 p.m., August 12. Applications will be accepted online only through ZoomGrants at zoomgrants.com/zgf/22_23_ARPA. - Roseville's Woodcreek Juniors and Maidu 11U Little League teams won their District 54 tournaments over the last couple of weeks. They will advance to the section tournaments. - Holy Moly! Gas prices have come down considerably in Roseville over the last couple of weeks, just as a lot of us are heading out on our summer road trips. Nice! You can get gas at Costco and Sam's Club in Roseville for just $5.28 a gallon (as of July 16). In Rocklin, your best bet is the ARCO on Sunset, where a gallon goes for $5.49. (Roseville Today)

- This event at House of Oliver sounds like a lot of fun! From their website: "Join us for a wild night of fun, mayhem and.....ahem.... murder! (But not really, like just play pretend.) There are NO Actors; you are the actors. You get assigned a role, a character, you get your notes before hand. You dress up, you immerse and you have fun." Why not put your ego away for the night and try it?
