Here are the top stories in Roseville today:

  1. There was a little excitement in the 'Ville yesterday afternoon as Roseville Police were hot on the tail of a suspect in a homicide case. The car chase took place in the northwest area of Roseville and ended with a crash at the intersection of Pleasant Grove and Sun City Boulevards. The suspect was taken into custody by police. (CBS Sacramento)
  2. Our Placer County Board of Supervisors has tentatively approved a map for our new county supervisorial district lines. If you’ve been following the redistricting process, Map A was chosen in a 3-2 vote on Tuesday. Among the changes in store if the map is implemented, North Auburn would become part of District 5 and portions of Rocklin would be split between Districts 2 and 3. The ordinance needed to fully approve Map A as our county’s district plan will come before the board at its December 7th meeting. (Gold Country Media)

Today in Roseville:

  • Vernon Street Square is the place to be tonight if you want to party Santa-style. The Downtown Holiday Celebration North Pole Tavern is where the grownups get to have some holiday fun with wine and beer tasting, an Ugly Sweater Contest and rockin’ tunes from the super-awesome Vito Banditos. $10 at the door gets you in and is good for six wine or beer tastings. 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
  • If it’s too cold for you outside to go to the North Pole Tavern, you can rock out to Zoso-The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience across the street at Goldfield Trading Post. Mr. Risse and I are big fans of these guys, and we were honestly pretty skeptical of anyone trying to imitate the legendary Led Zeppelin. Tickets are $18.50 online. 6:00 pm
  • Take Note Troupe’s production of “A Dickens of a Christmas” has started its limited run at the Tower Theater. The whole family will enjoy this tribute to Christmas that includes singing and dancing with a Victorian theme. Through Monday, Dec. 6
  • As of press time Thursday, there were still some tickets available to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento today/tonight. This year is my family’s first time seeing it live and we’ve heard it’s a pretty amazing show. Maybe we’ll see you there! 3:00 pm & 7:00 pm
  • Don’t forget to set your alarm clock for the Roseville Firefighters Pancake Breakfast Saturday at 911 Highland Pointe Drive! Bring the whole family – and your appetites! Tomorrow 6:30am-10:00am
