Here are the top stories in Roseville today:

  1. Last weekend Roseville Police conducted two DUI enforcement operations within the city. As part of the effort, they arrested three drivers for DUI, as well as making several traffic stops for reckless driving. "32 people in the United States are killed every day in crashes involving an alcohol-impaired driver—this is one death every 45 minutes." Wow. (City of Roseville, California Police Department via Facebook)
  2. Colfax High School was on lockdown Tuesday morning due to a report of someone being on campus who was not a student. The lockdown was a precautionary measure and it was not related to any specific action on or near the campus. Colfax High was scheduled for a minimum day, but police didn't believe the lockdown would be lifted in time. After-school events were canceled. (Gold Country Media)
  3. "The Placer County Community Development Resource Agency has issued a notice of preparation for an environmental impact report of The Ranch, a proposed 221.7-acre housing development in west Placer." You are invited to review the report and provide input between now and February 16. You can view the notice online or at the Roseville Downtown or Rocklin Libraries. (placer.ca.gov)
  4. Beer Dogs is out at Sylvan Corners in Citrus Heights, but a new burger joint is in! Rock Hard Burgers and Brew is now ready to serve you, following its soft opening on January 20. The restaurant has a full bar with 12 taps and lots of sports bar staples to eat. (Citrus Heights Sentinel)

  • The Royer Park Playground is getting a facelift. Work on the new play structure is underway. When it's done, in the spring, the playground will have a beautiful new play structure and lots of trees to admire! (Roseville Parks & Recreation via Instagram)
  • Roseville Electric's Power Engineering team is looking for a college intern. "You'll learn what it takes to operate and maintain the city's vital electric utility systems." If you're interested, check out the info at Roseville.ca.us/jobs (City of Roseville, California Government via Facebook)
  • Chat with City Councilmember Scott Alvord at Community Coffee with City Council next Tuesday, January 31 from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at MoJoe's Cafe. (Scott Alvord via Facebook)
