Woman Arrested in 7-Eleven Robbery

At 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 23, the 7-Eleven store at 205 Washington Blvd. was robbed.  The female suspect pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the clerks and demanded money. The clerks gave the suspect cash, and she drove away at a high rate of speed.  Responding officers pursued her vehicle for about a mile until she stopped on Atkinson Street near Church Street. Officers recovered cash from the store and a replica handgun (a bb gun).  The 41-year-old Roseville woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery, evading officers, and DUI.

Parolee at Large Arrested

On the evening of Feb. 24, the Vacaville Police Department notified Roseville Police of a parolee at large from their city who was believed to be staying at a hotel in Roseville.  Officers checked a hotel on Lead Hill Boulevard, and the parolee ran away. Officers searched the Harding Boulevard area, and eventually located him hiding in a garage on Mahan Court.  The 30-year-old Vacaville resident was arrested without further incident, and is now being held without bail for parole violation in the Placer County Jail.

Suspicious Person Claimed to Sell Magazines, Cookies; Arrest Made

Last week, Roseville Police received a few calls about a suspicious male, described as a black male in his 20s, who was knocking on residents' doors during daytime hours.  He claimed to be selling magazines or cookies, and was making odd remarks.  Officers responded to a Penelope Court resident's call on Feb. 20, and located a 20-year-old black male from Illinois in the area.  He was issued a municipal code citation for soliciting without a permit.

According to the Roseville Police Department, The Roseville Municipal Code requires door-to-door solicitors to have a valid Roseville business license and a permit from the police department.  They're prohibited from knocking on any door with a "no solicitors" sign posted.  Anytime you are concerned about a solicitor, or anyone else acting suspiciously, call police immediately and ask for an officer to check.

Suspicious Person Found in Resident’s Backyard

At about 9:45 p.m. on Feb. 26, a resident of Cottonwood Drive saw an unknown person in her back yard. The resident asked him what he was doing, and he acted startled and quickly walked away. He was described as a male, approximately 40 years old, wearing a dark-colored sweat suit, 5'10" tall with a medium build. Nothing was taken or disturbed.

Male Arrested with Burglar Tools

At 11:43 p.m. on Feb. 25, an officer contacted a male on foot on Cirby Way at Vernon Street, carrying a large bolt cutter. The 29-year-old transient male was arrested on suspicion of possessing burglar's tools, and on a warrant for drug possession.

Commercial Burglaries:

A sandwich shop in the 900 block of Sunrise Avenue was burglarized overnight on Feb. 23/24.  The unknown burglar smashed the glass in the front door and took the cash register and the tip jar.

Spanger Elementary Burglary

Between Feb. 24 and Feb. 27, an unknown suspect pried the door of a classroom at Spanger Elementary School and took audio-visual equipment.

Friday, Feb. 17

Garage burglarized: Between Feb. 17 and 25, someone forced entry into a detached apartment garage at 1100 Roseville Parkway, and took several items (unknown what, pending a list from the victim).

Tuesday, Feb. 21

Between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Feb. 21, someone went into a house on Avila Drive through an unlocked back door and ransacked one of the rooms. It's unknown at this time what was taken.  A neighbor said that at about 2 p.m. that day, an unknown male knocked on his door and asked if his vehicle was for sale. He was described Hispanic, about 20, clean cut with a goatee beard, wearing a light colored T-shirt and jeans. It's unknown if he was connected to the burglary.

Apartment garages burglarized — Between the night of Feb. 21 and the morning of Feb. 22, someone broke into four detached apartment garages at 700 Gibson Drive and rummaged through the cars parked inside. Fortunately the cars didn't have anything of significant value in them, but tools were taken from one of the garages.

Friday, Feb. 24

Between 8 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 8 a.m. on Feb. 25, someone kicked the door of an apartment on Somer Ridge Drive and took a laptop computer, video game consoles and other items.

Saturday, Feb. 25

An apartment on Conroy Lane was burglarized during the early morning hours of Feb. 25, while the resident was at work.  After an investigation, officers arrested a 27-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, both from Roseville, on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, and drug charges.

Overnight Feb. 25/26, a burglar went through an unlocked kitchen window into a home in the 600 block of Windsor Drive while the resident was away, and took a large screen television.

Monday, Feb. 27

Sometime before 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 27, someone kicked the door of a home in the 1600 block of Quail Circle and burglarized the house. It's unknown at this time what was taken.

Vehicle-Related Crime:

Between 2:30 and 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 18, someone stole a laptop computer and other small items from a car parked on Woburn Court. There was no sign of forced entry.

Overnight on Feb. 19/20, someone went into an unlocked car in the 1400 block of Spring Valley Drive and took loose change, music CDs and medication.

At about 4 p.m. on Feb. 21, a resident of Clinton Avenue was washing his white 1997 Ford F150 pickup in his driveway. He went inside for a few minutes, leaving the keys in the ignition, and the pickup was stolen. It hasn't yet been located.

On the night of Feb. 21, an officer checked a Honda Accord parked on Fifth Street, and found it had been reported stolen from the north Sacramento area.  Officers investigated and arrested a 49-year-old Antelope woman and a 36-year-old Sacramento woman on suspicion of vehicle theft and related charges.

Between 8:30 and 10 p.m. on Feb. 23, someone stole all four wheels from a Range Rover SUV parked in an apartment complex at 1100 Roseville Parkway.  An officer responded and found a Dodge Intrepid in the apartment complex lot, up on blocks, all four wheels missing and the engine running.  The Dodge had been stolen earlier that evening from the parking lot of a restaurant on Galleria Boulevard. During the same time frame, someone removed a window from a pickup in the same lot and rummaged through the pickup, taking an iPhone and a company gas card.

Overnight on Feb. 23/24, someone went into unlocked vehicles parked on Coulston Court, Hurlston Way and Mill Creek Court and stole items left in the vehicles.

Between 4 p.m. and midnight Feb. 25, someone stole an Acura Integra sedan from a restaurant parking lot on Roseville Parkway.  At 4 a.m. on Feb. 26, a Roseville officer patrolled the same lot and found an unoccupied stolen Honda Accord that had been stolen from a parking lot on Fairway Drive the previous day. The Acura Integra was found by CHP, undamaged, in the north Sacramento area on Feb. 27. No suspects have been identified.

Between noon and 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 26, a Honda Civic sedan was stolen from the 1500 block of Vineyard Road. It was located, unoccupied and damaged, by the Sacramento Police Department later the same day.

Overnight on Feb. 26/27, ID, a portable GPS system and coins were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Ridgerun Drive.
