Suspicious Couple Asks to Enter House, for Directions

A couple reportedly visited several houses in the Impressionist Loop neighborhood on April 3 asking for directions and to come inside the residents' house while they were writing directions.

At about 5:30 p.m. on April 3, a resident of Impressionist Loop reported that about an hour earlier, a couple came to her door asking for directions to Junction Boulevard, and asked to come inside the house while the resident was writing the directions down.  They apparently went to several other houses in the neighborhood asking the same thing.

They were described as a white male and a white female in their 30s.  The male wore an unknown colored shirt and baggy pants, and the female was wearing a sweater and dark-colored pants.

Suspect Arrested in Gas Station Burglary

A Sacramento man was arrested recently for suspicion of burglarizing the 76 gas station on Cirby Way in Roseville March 31. .

Man Arrested at Gunpoint at Marco Dog Park

Roseville Police officers arrested a Sacramento man at gunpoint around 1 p.m. April 5 in Marco Dog Park following a report of a car burglary in progress near Douglas Boulevard and Sierra Gardens Drive. The suspect, Scott Erin Meagher, 30, was chased by a witness and ran into Marco Dog Park. . 

Houses Vandalized by BB Guns

Two houses were recently vandalized by BB guns, according to Roseville Police.

At 7:37 p.m. on April 3, someone shot a pellet/BB at a patio door on Diamond Grove Court, shattering the door. The home backs up to Paul Dugan Park, and the resident thought that possibly kids were playing with BB guns in the park.

Also, between 11:30 p.m. April 6 and 8:30 a.m. April 7, someone shot bbs and broke the window of a house in the 1500 block of Verbena Court.

According to Roseville Police, shooting bb guns, airsoft guns or any other type of firearm or projectile weapon is illegal inside city limits. If you or your child has a bb gun, you'll need to find a place in an unincorporated area of the county to practice.

Park Snack Shack Burglarized

The Roseville Pony Baseball snack bar trailer located at Hillsborough Park, was burglarized sometime over the weekend.  Candy, sodas and sports drinks were taken.  If you go to this park and you see anyone snooping around the trailer when it's not in use, please call 911 immediately.

Classroom Equipment Stolen from Excelsior Elementary

Sometime before 11 a.m. on April 8, someone pried the door and burglarized a classroom at Excelsior Elementary School, taking a laptop and a video projector.

Gas Siphoning:

At 7:54 a.m. on March 31, a resident called police to report suspicious activity-a man walking around a residential neighborhood near Blue Oaks and Woodcreek Oaks boulevards carrying a gas can.  An officer responded a few minutes later, and saw a pickup truck parked on Eaglewind Drive with a hose sticking out of the gas tank, and gas draining into a gas can.  The officer contacted a man who was walking away from the truck.  The officer talked to the man, a 42-year-old Rio Linda resident, and issued him a citation for petty theft.

Sometime overnight April 1/2, someone siphoned gas from a vehicle in the 1200 block of McKinley Drive.

Two Males Arrested on Suspicion of Furnishing Pot to Minors

At 2:07 p.m. on April 9, officers checked Mark White Park and contacted a group smoking marijuana in the park.  Two 23-year-old males from Roseville were arrested on suspicion of furnishing marijuana to minors, possession of methamphetamine and related charges.

Sandwich Shop Break-In

Sometime overnight April 8/9, someone smashed the window of a sandwich shop in the 5100 block of Foothills Boulevard and broke into the safe.

Saturday, March 24

Backyard theft —Between March 24 and March 28, someone went into a back yard in the 1200 block of Miners Way and took a pool sweep and pool brush.

Friday, March 30

Between 6 p.m. on March 30 and 1 p.m. on April 2, someone went into a home under construction on Bright Eyes Court and took a microwave oven and a sink.

Wednesday, April 4

Between 7:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on April 4, someone went into the back yard of a home in the 1400 block of Kingswood Drive, pried open a window, went in and stole a video game console and jewelry.   There are no known suspects, but a neighbor saw a white cargo van or truck with no license plates parked on the block during the timeframe of the burglary. A male and a female, described as either Hispanic or Filipino, were sitting inside the vehicle.

Friday, April 6

Between 11 a.m. on April 6 and 2 a.m. April 7, someone entered an apartment in the 800 block of Sierra College Boulevard through an unlocked rear sliding door while the resident was away, and took video game equipment and jewelry.

Monday, April 9

Between 12:30 and 10 a.m. on April 9, someone kicked in the door and burglarized a home in the 1300 block of Ridgecrest Way while the residents were gone.  Jewelry was taken.

Apartment garage burglaries —Sometime before April 9, two garage units at the 1450 Kingswood apartment complex were burglarized. The unknown suspect(s) forced the garage doors open, taking musical instruments from one unit and tools from another.

Vehicle-Related Crime:


Sometime overnight April 2/3, someone went into a Honda Civic parked in the 200 block of Ardmore Avenue, and took several valuable items, including a portable GPS, an iPod and binoculars. It's unknown how the burglar got into the locked car.

Between 12:05 and 7:30 a.m. on April 3, someone went into an unlocked Toyota 4-Runner parked in the 1600 block of Citadella Drive, and took an iPod, gym clothes, music CDs and other small items.

Overnight on April 3/4, someone went into a car parked in a carport in the 200 block of Breuner Drive, and took and took snowboarding equipment and credit cards.  The stolen credit cards were soon used to make purchases in Sacramento. It's unknown how the thieves got into the vehicle.

Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on April 4, someone went into an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of Harding Boulevard, and took a wallet containing several credit cards, a checkbook and other valuable documents from the center console.

At about 3 p.m. on April 4, someone stole a commercial lawn mower from an open landscaper's trailer parked in the 300 block of Zola Avenue.  A witness saw a male in his 20s take the mower and drive away in a gray van.

Between 7 p.m. April 4 and 8 a.m. April 5, someone stole a white Saturn SUV from the 900 block of Keith Drive. The Citrus Heights Police Department found it on April 6, undamaged and unoccupied.

Overnight on April 4/5, someone vandalized a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Ivy Street.  The damages included a slashed tire, a damaged side mirror and a bent license plate frame.

Between 7 and 8 p.m. on April 5, someone broke the window of a car parked in the 500 block of North Sunrise and took an iPod.

Overnight on April 5/6, someone stole a burgundy 1996 Dodge Ram pickup with a lumber rack on the back from the 1200 block of Melody Lane, and smashed a window and tampered with the ignition of a 2001 Ford pickup parked in the 1000 block of Melody Lane.   The Dodge pickup is still missing.

Overnight on April 5/6, someone broke a window of a Dodge Neon sedan parked in the 100 block of Earl Avenue. Nothing was taken.

Overnight on April 5/6, someone splashed red paint on a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Tahoe Avenue.

Between 11 p.m. April 6 and 12:20 a.m. April 7, someone smashed the window of a car parked at a fitness center in the 300 block of North Sunrise, and rummaged through the car.  Fortunately the vehicle owner had taken her purse into the fitness center with her, and although her vehicle was damaged, the thieves didn't find anything of value to steal.

At about 2:30 a.m. on April 8, someone used a rock to break the window of a vehicle parked in a parking lot in the 100 block of North Sunrise Avenue, and took a duffle bag containing baseball equipment. A witness described the burglar as a white male adult in his 30s, 6'4" tall with dark-colored hair, wearing prescription eyeglasses.  The suspect left in a gold-colored, approximately 10-year-old Mercedes or Lexus sedan. The witness didn't realize the suspect was stealing items from the vehicle until the suspect drove away, and the witnesses noticed the broken window in the victim's vehicle.

Between 4 and 8 a.m. on April 8, someone dented and scratched the paint of a car parked in the 1100 block of Church Street.

Sometime overnight April 8/9, someone broke into a company pickup parked in the 1600 block of Douglas Boulevard in a possible vehicle theft attempt.
