- A bicyclist who was injured while riding his bike in the bike lane westbound on Greenback Lane near Folsom Ranch Drive is suing the City of Folsom for liability in the accident. The cyclist is also suing Sacramento County, the driver and Folsom Ranch Apartments, where the accident took place. According to court documents, the injured party says the city "received prior complaints, which means the city is open to being liable for the accident because it failed to correct hazardous conditions." (ABC10.com KXTV)
- Four people are wanted in connection with a New Year's Day homicide in Lincoln, and police need your help to identify them. A surveillance camera inside the victim's home caught the suspects on video. "The sheriff's office is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case." (ABC10 via MSN)
- Meals on Wheels Placer County received additional funding from Meals on Wheels California. This additional funding will allow Meals on Wheels Placer County to grow its impact on the senior community. Seniors First, which runs Meal on Wheels Placer County "has been able to provide low income seniors with 25,000 hot meals, 12,000 rides to essential service appointments, over 250 home repairs, 2,000 hours of home-visits, and much more" over the past year. (Roseville Today)
- The City of Roseville is hosting a job fair on January 28 at the Mahany Fitness Center. "We are hiring for multiple positions throughout the City of Roseville for part-time, full-time and seasonal jobs. Some of the current openings include preschool, adult sports, aquatics, child care, garbage, libraries, park maintenance, water efficiency and many more." Now might be the perfect time to find a job that is fulfilling and also gives back to our great community. (roseville.ca.us)
