🌱Deputies ID Rocklin Burglar + Catalytic Converter Thefts

Here are the top stories today in Roseville:

  1. The Placer County Sheriff's Office says it's identified the Rocklin construction site burglary suspect as James Watson of Carmichael. A deputy reportedly spotted a trespasser when patrolling a construction area on Cincinnati Avenue in late December. The deputy followed and later pulled the suspect over, discovering $2,800 worth of stolen goods in Watson's vehicle. (Good Day Sacramento)
  2. The Placer County Sheriff's Office arrested two individuals for stealing a catalytic converter on December 22. Jason Russell Shepherd, 43, of Auburn and Melissa Ann McCoy, 43, of Sacramento, were charged with suspicion of grand theft, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools, among other charges. The sheriff's office reminds folks that getting your catalytic converter engraved is a good deterrent against thieves. (Gold Country Media)
  3. Get the latest on Placer County unemployment at Roseville Today. The area shows economic strength, with Roseville leading the way as the county's largest city. The California Economic Development Department lists Placer County as having 6,600 unemployed, with an overall rate of about 3.5 percent.
  4. Take out your calendar! Here is the latest events listing from Roseville Patch. In addition to lots of high school sports to support this week, there's also a heads up for Sacramento's Dine Downtown Restaurant Week for all you foodies out there.
  5. Celebrate the 'fresh slate' of a new year with Roseville City School District. The district reminds families that registration for next year runs from January 3-28.
