- Folsom’s eighth annual Community Service Day is this Saturday, September 18th. Over 2,500 volunteers are expected to take part in this event, completing over 100 community service projects. Folsom’s Community Service Day also includes a citywide food drive for Twin Lakes Food Bank. If every Folsom household donates one bag of groceries, Folsom’s hungry can be fed for a full year. If you're interested in helping out, you must register in advance at www.folsomcommunityservice.org. There's a great list of events! See you out there! (Roseville Today)
- The Main Street Plaza on the corner of Washington Blvd. and Main Street was named the region's top affordable housing project for 2021 by the Sacramento Business Journal. In alignment with the city's Downtown Specific Plan, this development aims to help revitalize Historic Old Town Roseville. “The Main Street Apartments meet an important need at one end of the affordability spectrum.” said Mike Isom, Roseville Development Services Manager. (City of Roseville Facebook)
- Napa’s Dylan Zampa and Fort Bragg’s Aidan Daniels split the NASCAR Late Model Twin 35s on Keaton’s Child Cancer Awareness Night at All American Speedway in Roseville on Saturday. This is Zampa's fifth win of the season and Daniels' second career win. Aidan and sister Kylie Daniels shared the front row on a restart with seven laps to go. I bet she let him win. It's just easier at the dinner table that way. (Placer Herald)
- Starting November 1, The City of Roseville is phasing out newspaper bins at all city drop-off recycling locations. It will still offer cardboard recycling for large cardboard that doesn't fit in your home trash and recycling bin. The city is removing the bins because fewer people are still receiving their news through newspapers and the bins are becoming garbage and illegal dumping sites that the city must process separately at a high cost. (City of Roseville)
- It's Crush! If you're still with me it's because great minds drink alike! Crush is the time of year that winemakers take all of those juicy grapes and stomp the wine out of them. This year, the Big Crush festival in Amador is October 1-3 and tickets are on sale now! You will need to plan your itinerary and make your selections of where you are going in advance, so get your posse together and get out there now and get your ticket! (Roseville Today)

Today in Roseville:
- The Latino Leadership Council will be hosting a Bumper Ball Pop-Up at Maidu Park in Roseville, for youth ages 12-18. Come spend your morning at the park playing a soccer match with bumper balls! Have you seen these things? They look like inflatable hamster balls that you wear to play soccer. They're a hoot! (10 am - noon)
- Virtual Community Write Night: (on Zoom) Tonight the grownups get to experience the magic of 916 Ink! Always wanted to try writing? A “wordslinger” will present unique and engaging prompts to spark your creativity. This event is free, but donations to offset costs are always welcome. (6 pm-8 pm)
- Roseville residents are encouraged to attend the City Council meeting. Residents who wish to address the Council may do so according to guidelines noted on the front cover of the City Council agenda. Meetings are held in the Council chamber located in the Civic Center at 311 Vernon Street. (6 pm-10 pm)

- Today is National Linguine Day, and Yelper's agree, Roseville's best linguine is at The Place! But holy moly, what a menu it has! I might go "off topic" and order the farmer's market risotto, or wait! How about the Lasagne alla Bolognese? Mamma Mia! I'm going to have to wear a stretchy waistband!
