- CBS13 reports that a driver was struck and killed on Highway 50 in Folsom early Thursday morning. The driver had exited their vehicle after apparently crashing into the center divider, where they were struck by another car on the eastbound side. Investigators have not released additional details at this time. (CBS Sacramento)
- In additional tragic news, authorities confirmed that a Northern California professor drowned at Folsom Lake on August 1. A California State Parks investigation concluded that Tanya Rodriguez, 49, drowned at Beals Point. Rodriguez was accompanied by her young nephew at the time of the accident. (SF Gate)
- Heirloom Acres Farm in Orangevale announced a series of August dates for its popular u-pick flower events. $30 buys you an hour-and-a-half of picking time to fit as many flowers as you can into a large, farm-provided container. - Roseville's resident global health care company Penumbra is expanding its presence. Cushman & Wakefield Brokers just leased Penumbra an additional 96,505 square feet of lab and office space in the Roseville Innovation Park. (Rebusiness Online)
- Gold Country Media reports on drought restrictions that began for Roseville residents on August 9 and offers some ideas to help folks lower their usage. The restrictions require locals to reduce water use by 20 percent. Stage 2 Enforcement will start August 15. (Gold Country Media)
