East Bay Crash Victim ID'd As Placer County Resident
The man, 51, died Friday after possibly suffering a medical emergency, coroner said.

A man who died early Friday after his car crashed into the rear of another vehicle in Antioch was 51-year-old Brian Wayne Allen, according to the Contra Costa County coroner’s office.
An autopsy is being conducted today on the body of Allen, a resident of Lincoln in Placer County, to determine his cause of death, an employee of the coroner’s office said.
At about 1:45 a.m. Friday, Allen’s car rear-ended a car containing two women in their 30s on East 18th Street near Phillips Lane, according to Antioch police.

Allen may have experienced a medical emergency prior to rear-ending the other car that may have contributed to or caused the crash, police said.
Excessive speed may also have been a factor and officers are waiting for the results of the autopsy to determine whether alcohol or drug use also may have contributed to the crash, according to police.
