Multicultural Music Festival

KidZKount, Placer Community Action Council, Inc.’s Board of Directors is hosting a “Multicultural Music Festival” for the benefit of Head Start. This exciting event will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Gold Country Fairgrounds located in Auburn, from 9:00am to 8:00pm. The Board of Directors are also very excited to announce the participation of performances that include an array of cultural music and entertainment by community members of Placer and Nevada Counties. This “Multicultural Music Festival”will conclude with three headliner artists who are well known throughout the Nation, State and especially Northern California, and include Maria Muldaur and Her Red Hot Blusiana Band, Native American Flutist, Mary Youngblood and The Saul Rayo Band. The opening bands, prior to the headliners, are Mr. December and Fire In The Kitchen. Additional cultural performers include Hip Hop Congress, Head Start's Ambassador Jarrett Ras and Family, NEO's Suburban Parade, The Grass Valley Taiko Drummers, Maidu Independent Theater, SkyRockers and the Auburn Irish Session.


Tickets for this event are $15.00 for adults, $10.00 for youth ages 12-16 and children under the age of 12 are free and can be purchased at Awful Annie's Restaurant in Lincoln, The Maidu Museum & Historic Site in Roseville, Dimple Records located in Roseville and on Arden Way in Sacramento, Briar Patch in Grass Valley, Yabōbō in Nevada City, Cherry Records in Auburn and Sun River Clothing Co. in Old Town Auburn. Tickets may also be purchased at the gate on the day of the event. The proceeds from this cultural festival will be used to support Head Start's qualified families of Placer and Nevada Counties. The KidZKount Board of Directors enthusiastically invites everyone to bring their entire family, folding chairs and blankets and join us on May 4, 2013 at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn to enjoy a fun-filled day of cultural food, music and entertainment. This event will be a smoke, alcohol and drug free zone. Also, no pets allowed, except for service animals for people with special needs.
