August is going to be a busy month for the resurfacing project with several main arteries scheduled for a (sur)face-lift. Streets with multiple lanes will keep at least one lane open while smaller streets will utilize detours. Check out the detailed schedule so you can plan your routes ahead of time. 3. Roseville is experiencing some pretty unhealthy air these days due to shifting winds bringing smoke from the Dixie Fire into the valley. Our Roseville Fire Department warns, "Poor air quality from wildfire smoke has the potential to cause negative health impacts, particularly for sensitive groups and when exposure is prolonged. See the RFD's recommendations for keeping your lungs healthy and check out this site where you can check local air quality in real-time. (Roseville Fire Department Facebook and AirNow.Gov)
  4. With the first day of school just around the corner, the Roseville City School District (RCSD) has issued its reopening plan for welcoming students back to school. The district will follow recommendations from the California Department of Health, requiring students to wear facemasks while indoors on campus regardless of vaccination status. School activities like band and sports will be allowed and there will be no social distancing required, according to the statement posted on the RCSD website on Wednesday. No hybrid learning is planned for this year, although an independent home-study option is offered to families wishing to keep their student at home.
