- Placer County Public Health has confirmed a positive case of monkeypox. According to the county health officer, the affected individual is currently in isolation. The health authority will not be providing any further information on the case. Placer County Public Health is working with the positive case to identify people who may have been exposed. If you have a new or an unexplained rash or other symptoms, contact your healthcare provider for evaluation. - Placer County Transit is piloting a new program called microtransit. This program offers residents curb-to-curb transportation with the ability to reserve same-day trips via a smartphone app. Phase 1 of the pilot brings this service to West Placer, including the cities of Rocklin and Lincoln. “We consider this phase 1 of the pilot and hope to be able to expand the app-based service to all of our city partners in the months to come,” said Public Works Director Ken Grehm. - The City of Rocklin has an unscheduled vacancy on the City Council. The city is accepting applications to fill that vacancy. The selected appointed individual will serve on the City Council until the certification of the Special Election on November 8 when a candidate will be elected to fill the position. A special meeting of the City Council has been scheduled on August 18 at 6 p.m. to interview applicants in open session and make the appointment. The deadline to submit an application is August 11 at 5 p.m. (rocklin.ca.us)
- Rocklin is getting a new bike track! The City Council also approved a negotiated memorandum of understanding between the City of Rocklin and the Rocklin Firefighters Union Local 3847 through June of 2025. Finally, several commissioners took their oaths of office and others were bid a fond farewell. See the notes from the meeting at this city link. (rocklin.ca.us)

- The circus is in town. The Circus Vargas spectacular returns to Roseville at the Westfield Galleria for two weeks from July 29 through August 14th. (8 a.m.)
- 2022 Nerf, Lego, Martial Arts & Ninja Obstacle Course Summer Camp for kids is a fun and unique experience at The Studio Martial Arts in Roseville. It's a great way to introduce your kids to martial arts and other fun activities that will keep them moving and entertained. (9 a.m.)
- Sing 2 is showing at Studio Movie Grill in Rocklin as part of their Summer Movie Series. All seats are just $6. (11 a.m.)

- Join City of Roseville Police at "Workout with a Recruiter." Our next Workout with a Recruiter will be held Saturday, August 6 at 2:30 p.m. behind Roseville PD at Roseville Police Activities League (RPAL – 110 Corporation Yard Road). Workout with a Recruiter is a great opportunity for potential applicants to come and network with police department personnel and other participants. You need to register to attend! - The Roseville Historical Society has announced a new quarterly presentation called Trek Through Time Talks! There will be a quarterly guest speaker talking on subjects related to Roseville history. The first one is on August 16 at 6:30 p.m. with guest speaker, Carnegie Museum archivist Sharalee! She will discuss the mystery of a trunk that she found and what she found within it. Cool!
- Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy is having their famous BBQ Fundraiser October 6 at the Blue Goose in Loomis! Tickets and sponsorships available soon.
