Here are the top five stories today in Roseville:

  1. Two people were arrested in Fair Oaks on Thursday for catalytic converter theft and fentanyl charges, according to Roseville PD. Detectives arrested 29-year-old Donald Strong and 30-year-old Jessie Henson for grand theft, conspiracy, and other charges. The alleged crimes took place in Roseville on April 29. (CBS Sacramento)
  2. Officials from the California Department of Corrections (CDCR) are currently investigating the death of inmate Camilo Banoslopez, 22, who was attacked by four fellow inmates at California State Prison in Folsom, according to a statement released Saturday morning. According to the CDCR, Banoslopez was reportedly attacked by Albert Calvillo, 30, Irvin Rodriguez, 36, Osbaldo Velasquez, 38, and Jose Avila, 39, officials said. No further information is being released at this time as the investigation continues. (Folsom Telegraph)
  3. If you see a heck of a hullabaloo at 4561 Pacific St. in Rocklin next week, don't call 911. The Rocklin Fire Department will be conducting a large-scale, multi-day firefighter training in partnership with multiple local agencies from May 9-14. You may see fire and smell smoke from the training over those six days. “Gathering cooperating agencies for training not only keeps individual departments and their staff on their toes but helps ensure that in times of real emergencies, we are prepared to work together to save lives and property,” said Rocklin Fire Battalion Chief Robert Molinaro. 4. Loomis and south Placer residents only have until May 30 to visit the JB Art Gallery, located at 3667 Taylor Road in Loomis, next to the Loomis Town Hall. The pop-up gallery is set to close down at the end of May. However, interest in the gallery has been so strong, Loomis resident Sara Aibel who runs the gallery has said she will open another one in Loomis this fall. “The community (support) has been incredible,” Aibel said. 5. Our Veteran’s Memorial Park North has a beautiful new look and feel after recent upgrades were completed. Overall, 52 Armstrong Maples were planted, 25 were replacements and 27 were additions to the grove. The turf around the trees was removed and replaced with bark to help hold in the moisture from the new drip irrigation system. If you’re interested in sponsoring a tree or brick in memory of a Veteran you can find forms at roseville.ca.us/VeteransMemorialParkNorth. (roseville.ca.us)
