- One person died in a seven-car pileup on Interstate 80 near Newcastle on Saturday. The accident closed portions of the freeway for four hours. The victim was traveling in a Dodge Ram truck eastbound on the roadway when he made an unsafe lane change that caused the left rear of his vehicle to strike a bus in the number one lane. That collision set off a chain reaction ultimately involving seven vehicles and resulting in the death of the Ram driver. (Gold Country Media)
