Free Rides No Longer Offered on Spare the Air Days in Roseville

Funding was denied for free transit on Spare the Air Days. Contact the Placer County Air Pollution Control District if you think this was a valuable program.

During , days when the Air Quality Index is expected to reach more than 127 for ground-level ozone pollution, some local transportation agencies offer free rides in an attempt to encourage bus-riding and carpooling. 

Roseville use to be one of them, but not this year.

According to a Roseville Transit e-notify letter, the Placer County Air Pollution Control District, or PCAPCD, denied funding for free bus trips this year.

Yolobus, the Yolo County Transportation District, which provides transportation in areas like West Sacramento and Davis, offers free Yolobus rides on Spare the Air days. These free rides are funded by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments and the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District, according to the Daily Democrat.
