Fundraiser to be held for Former Jesuit High, St. Alban's Student

Midtown Sacramento's LowBrau restaurant and bar to hold reward fund fundraiser Saturday night.

The midtown hot spot LowBrau will host a fundraiser for slain Jesuit High School alum and former St. Alban's Country Day School student Josiah Humphreys at 7 p.m., Saturday night.  

The Sacramento Bee reports money raised will go toward a reward fund set up by Humphreys' family to help get information leading to his killers. 

Humphreys, 28, was beaten to death in midtown Sacramento March 17 by three yet-to-be identified assailants.

According to the Bee, the family has raised nearly $5,000. The restaurant and bar's general manager Pat Ramos is also Jesuit High School alum. 

Humphreys graduated from Jesuit in 2003, according to a website created in his memory and for reward contributions. Most of his elementary school years were spent at St. Alban's Country Day School in Roseville, the website states.

LowBrau is located 1050 20th St. The Bee reports the event will run until closing. It is open until 2 a.m.

The locale's owners have vowed to donate $1 for every draft beer sold the night of the fundraiser, the Bee reports. Reportedly several area business have donated items for a raffle and there are several event sponsors.  

Saturday's fundraiser is not the only event held in Humphreys memory.  in the very spot he was beaten, between 18th and P streets, to remember the former Camichael student.  

Before Jesuit, he also attended Holy Family Catholic School in Citrus Heights. He studied biological sciences at UC Santa Cruz, the family website states.
