That is why District Attorney Pierson and I are conducting a community discussion (today) to review the sad facts in this report and gather input from other experts to identify a bipartisan solution that will strengthen our state’s public safety system.

The new report is available on the El Dorado County District Attorney’s website here.

The community discussion runs from 10 a.m. to noon today at the State Capitol, Room 4203, in Sacramento. Also present will be:

Chief Judge James Ware, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California

Nancy O’Malley, Alameda County District Attorney; Chair, CA State Sex Offender Management Board

Lee Seale, California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation

Harriet Salarno & Laura Strasser, Crime Victims United of CA

Phillip Ung, California Coalition Against Sexual Assault
