  1. Got a kid that likes to climb? Or maybe one who would like to learn what it's like to soar through the air like a bird? Quarry Park has new winter youth camps where campers can learn to climb and zip-line, among other adventures. They'll leave the weeklong camp with a newfound confidence and a hoodie!   2. Placer Academy Charter school in Rocklin suddenly announced it will close. The last day of instruction will be December 15. Friday's abrupt announcement took families by surprise and sent them scrambling to find a new school for their kids after the Christmas break. Issues with construction of a new campus were among those cited by the school as reasons for the closure. "I desperately wish we could have been given either more warning or maybe an opportunity to try to help save the school," one of the parents said. (KCRA Sacramento)
  3. The Placer County Board of Supervisors accepted a $580,000 award to fund the Placer County Sheriff's Office body-worn camera program. The program "will also be integrated into the in-car camera system of its patrol vehicles," and "the Sheriff’s Office hopes to roll out the body-worn cameras in 2023." (Gold Country Media)
  4. An as-yet unidentified pedestrian lost their life early Tuesday morning on southbound Sunrise Avenue, near Twin Oaks Avenue in Roseville. According to authorities, the pedestrian was not walking in a crosswalk. The roadway was closed for about an hour, starting at 2:00 a.m. (KCRA Sacramento)
  5. Build Up Rocklin is a new program by the city "that focuses on supporting innovation, growth, and sustainability within established businesses." It's a six-month program for existing businesses that were impacted by COVID-19. (rocklin.ca.us)
