Granite Bay Couple Vies for Camellia Cup
The two raced in recent 47th Camellia Cup at Folsom Lake.

Granite Bay's Madeline and Mike Rayfuse sail their Catalina 22, Sirius, in the 47th Camellia Cup on Folsom Lake Sunday.
Though aggressive, the Rayfuses struggled through the first four races, finishing fourth and fifth of seven, said John Poimiroo, race spokesperson.
In one of the races, they attempted a risky dip start, sailing in from the course side of the line to find a hole between the other boats -- dipping below the line and start -- only to be over early by a foot when the starting horn sounded, Poimiroo gave a play by play.

However, he said their "fortunes changed for them in the final of five races, when they won it by a wide margin."
The annual race is hosted by the Folsom Lake Yacht Club.
