Here are the top five stories in Roseville today:

  1. The Folsom Amphitheater Twilight Concerts season kicks off June 2 with Lando Collective! Go early and grab yourself a meal from Scott's Seafood or Fat Rabbit right across the street. And, of course, no visit to Historic Folsom would be complete without a treat from Snooks! Don't you just love the trappings of summer? (Roseville Today)
  2. Happy 35th Birthday Mikuni! The Granite Bay man behind the iconic sushi bar since he was a teenager, Taro Arai, is continually expanding his family legacy as the company’s CDO, or “Chief Dreaming Officer.” So, what's next for this entrepreneur and dreamer? He wants to expand to 50 restaurants by Mikuni's 50th birthday! With nine restaurants in the Sacramento area, including two in Roseville and one in Folsom, he's going to have to open 41 more in the next 15 years. That's quite a goal, but if he can open them, I'm game to try each and every one! YUM! (Gold Country Media)
  3. The City of Roseville, in partnership with the Growth Factory, is launching Roseville Venture Lab in Downtown Roseville. Roseville Venture Lab will begin fostering a community of entrepreneurs and small businesses through targeted programs, community partnerships, workforce development and events. The nonprofit Growth Factory will operate the entrepreneur center in 2,416 square feet of city-owned space at 316 Vernon Street. Analysis by the Greater Sacramento Economic Council conservatively estimates a direct economic output exceeding $5 million by the fifth year of operation. (Roseville Today)
  4. The proposed Fiscal Year 2022-23 budget for the city of Roseville includes $767 million in expenses. More than half are related to the operation of the community owned electric, water, wastewater and refuse utilities. You can check out a breakdown of the rest of the budget in this press release from the city. (roseville.ca.us)
