Here are the top five stories today in Roseville:

  1. Destiny Christian Church of Rocklin is bringing resources together to help victims of the Mosquito Fire. The church community has donated items that are being made available to those who have been impacted by the fire. Pastor Greg Farrington says the church community wants those who are experiencing a difficult time to feel welcomed and cared for. “We want to give people a chance to feel like, 'Hey, there’s a place that cares about me,'” Farrington said. According to ABC10, "the church is planning to host an event for wildfire survivors on Oct. 5. If you are in need, know someone that is, or would like to offer support yourself. Visit Destiny Christian Church by clicking here." (ABC10.com KXTV)
  2. A Roseville man was sentenced to 15 years in prison, on Monday, for sexual exploitation of a child. Brian Baptise Formiconi, 49, was found to have been trading messages containing nude pictures of a minor victim with a network of Kik Messenger users. According to Gold Country Media "Information from Kik, internet service providers and other investigations led to the identification of Formiconi and the victim." (Gold Country Media)
  3. Talk about karma! Demitry Mediucho, 33, was driving his F250 on Roseville Parkway when he allegedly ran into a BMW sedan and then left the scene. I say "allegedly" but the karma part of this story is that his truck left an imprint of his license plate on the sedan! It's hard to explain that one away! Officers went to the address listed on the license plate's registration where they found Mediucho and the truck. He was arrested for felony hit and run and suspicion of drunken driving. (CBS Sacramento)
  4. Richard King, 33, of Roseville was arrested following a search of a residence in the 300 block of Washington Avenue. King is suspected of a series of violent attacks against women. The crimes may have spanned both Placer and Sacramento counties, according to authorities. “As a suspected violent sexual predator it seems possible his crimes may not be just in the short-term,” the Roseville Police Department told FOX40. Police believe there may be more victims that they are not aware of. Roseville Police are advising those that may have been victimized that they should contact their local law enforcement agency if they have any information about this case. (KTXL FOX 40 Sacramento)
