  1. Placer County has made US News and World Report's list of the healthiest counties in the US! Roseville's award winning parks, trails and open space contribute to Placer County being ranked one of the top 50 healthiest counties. Head out and enjoy them this holiday weekend! (City of Roseville, California Government via Facebook)
  2. Heading into the holiday weekend, the Placer County District Attorney’s Office is reminding residents to celebrate responsibly and not become another referral to their office’s DUI unit. Remember, it's not just cars that are dangerous and illegal to operate under the influence. Boats and jet skis are off limits if you're over the limit, too. “Our office and county take DUI’s very seriously,” said Supervising Deputy District Attorney Jeffery Moore. “One selfish decision made in a moment can result in devastating lifelong consequences. … Simply put, it is just not worth it.” (Roseville Today)
  3. The estimated number of unhoused community members in Placer County remains relatively steady compared to 2020, according to results of the 2022 Point-in-Time homeless census released Thursday by the Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras. There was a small increase from 744 to 750 during that time, though the rate per 10,000 residents declined. “That we haven’t seen the dramatic increase in homelessness that other communities have in the past few years shows the value of the collective investments we’ve made in preventing and addressing it,” said Placer County Board of Supervisors Chair and District 5 Supervisor Cindy Gustafson. 4. Help name a Roseville park! Park naming submissions are now being accepted for three new parks in Roseville. Read more about the park naming process and fill out a suggestion form by July 29 at 3 p.m. Submit suggestions to the City Clerk's office at 311 Vernon Street. If you are interested in learning more about the plans for these (or any other) parks in the design/construction phase, visit roseville.ca.us/parksintheworks . (City of Roseville)
