Here are the top stories today in Roseville:
- According to the U.S. Census Bureau, about 71,601 people currently live in Rocklin, which is a 26% increase in population from the 56,974 residents who lived there in 2010. Rocklin’s population increase is more than double the rate of growth seen across the Sacramento region. No other local city grew faster. City leaders say new residents are drawn there because of employment, education and affordable housing units. “I’d like to think it is the quality of life,” Rocklin Mayor Jill Gayaldo said. “We have great schools, we have great parks, and we have a really responsive, super-safe place to live and really responsive public works.” Let's face it. Rocklin rocks! (SN&R)
- You may know Logan Webb as the talented pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, but to Jordan Georgeson he's the kid that was the secret weapon on his tee ball team. Webb is from Rocklin and Georgeson grew up with him and has some local memories with the renowned pitcher throughout his formative athletic years. Walk down memory lane with Georgeson in this fun piece. (Gold Country Media)
- The 14th annual Rocklin Christmas Tree Lighting Festival will be held this year at Quarry Park and will feature a crafting/vendor walk, meet & greet w/ Santa, live performances and more. Scheduled for December 4, 2021. There will be free food giveaways and, of course, the lighting of the Christmas tree! Arrive early if you want to partake of the free food! (Roseville Today). Not to be outdone by Rocklin, Lincoln will also have a parade and tree lighting! The Lincoln Hometown Christmas parade and tree lighting celebration returns on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Enjoy a full day of holiday family fun including the annual vendor and craft fair. A colorful assortment of crafts and treats await! (Roseville Today)
- Too early for Christmas? Set your sights on the Roseville Turkey Trot! The annual Roseville Turkey Trot returns on November 25, 2021. Come kick off a great Thanksgiving Day with a fun race, run, jog, walk, stroll, roll, or even crawl, before the parades, before the kick-offs, and before the feasting commences (and maybe even burn off a few calories). (Roseville Today)
- The City of Roseville is offering curbside leaf pickup through January 14, 2022. Roseville's curbside leaf pickup service helps prevent fallen front yard leaves from clogging stormwater drains and washing into our creeks and streams, disturbing the sensitive ecological balance and threatening plants and wildlife. This service is for LEAVES ONLY. Crews cannot pick up other yard waste. If a bag contains any unacceptable materials, crews will place a notice on your door and leave the bag(s) in front of the residence for you to remove. (City of Roseville)

- To all our trail-running friends: the Antelope Creek Trail will be closed this weekend between Galleria Boulevard and just before Antelope Creek Drive for an archery event nearby. So, unless you are willing to take a stray arrow, which I’m guessing would defeat the whole fitness thing, choose another of Roseville’s many awesome trails for your morning run. (Facebook)
