Here are the top stories in Roseville today:
- If you are looking for a "one stop shopping" kind of page for all holiday happenings, ideas, etc. for families with young children, you may want to check out Macaroni Kids' Holiday Guide webpage. Goodness knows I try to fit everything for everyone in The Roseville Daily, but this site has great holiday movie guides, decor tips, party food recipes, printables and more that I just can't fit into your Daily. Happy merry-making! (Macaroni Kids online)
- Matthew Maynard, longtime manager of the Placer County Assessor's Office, has been appointed Placer County Assessor by a unanimous vote of our county Board of Supervisors. Maynard has been with the Assessor's Office since 2007, bringing a wealth of experience to the position. (County of Placer press release)
- One busy Roseville woman is making her mark in the modeling world while getting her education in public policy at William Jessup University. Jaime Lee Wright, who started modeling at age four, reveled in her runway experience at New York's 2021 Fashion Week in September as she worked with designer Marc Defang. Read more about her interesting journey here! (Gold Country Media)
- The battle over California's ban on high-capacity firearm magazines reached the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recently, which overturned the rulings of two lower court judges in upholding the ban. The majority opinion based the finding on a belief that the ban does not significantly interfere with individuals' rights of self defense. Gun rights groups are not giving up and will seek to get the issue in front of the more conservative leaning Supreme Court. (KCRA 3)
- Our reporters at Patch.com have been hard at work getting the goods on what you need to know about the omicron COVID-19 variant sweeping the news recently. Be in the know so you can keep a cool head as we (possibly) head into a new phase of this pandemic era. (Patch.com)
