Here are the top stories today in Roseville:
- The Roseville-area homicide victim has been identified as 41-year-old Erica Marie Wright. As of the time of publication on Thursday, police officers were still searching for a suspect. Wright was found dead inside a Livoti Avenue home early Wednesday morning. The incident is still actively being investigated and detectives have determined the death to be a homicide. (Gold Country Media and Placer County Sheriff’s Office Facebook)
- Thousands of Sutter nurses, including those in Roseville, will lose five days of pay after a one-day strike at California hospitals. The action affects roughly 1,900 nurses at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, the Sutter Center for Psychiatry in Sacramento and 11 other hospitals. The nurses union and its affiliate Caregivers and Healthcare Employees Union have said they and management negotiators have reached a standoff in labor contract negotiations over staffing and pandemic preparedness.
