Has the real estate market in the Roseville area changed? Yes. But probably not how you think.

If you listen to some gloomy types, you might think the current real estate market in our area is in free fall. Not exactly.

  • 25% of sales last month were above the original listing price
  • 43% sales in August had more than one offer
  • Despite longer sales cycles, inventory is actually down
  • The median sale price is down 7% from near-historic highs

Whether buying, selling or investing, in a changing market you need a Realtor with enough local knowledge to turn data into insights that create value for you.

Here are the top stories today in Roseville:

  1. It's almost trick-or-treat time! The City of Roseville has some tips to help you make sure you and your loved ones are safe this Halloween. They've got ideas for how to keep your home safe, how to keep your trick-or-treating ghouls and goblins safe and how to make sure you're a safe driver when the little ones are out in force. Read up and then go out and have a hauntingly good time! (roseville.ca.us)
  2. Placer County’s Health and Human Services Department requests your input for ways to improve the county mental health services. An online survey allows you to remain anonymous. It's 12 questions and takes about 10 minutes to complete. The department is collecting this input "to help shape the county’s three-year Mental Health Services Act plan, set to begin July 1, 2023." (placer.ca.us)
  3. What do the Placer County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant in the corrections division at the South Placer Jail and the JV football coach at Twelve Bridges High School in Lincoln have in common? It's the same guy! Jon Scofield is a superhero, of sorts, who saves the day for the high schoolers and the night for the good people of Roseville. “I am extremely proud of Lt. Scofield,” said his boss, Sheriff Wayne Woo. “He understands the importance of our position in the community and realizes that our relationship with the community is key to our success and great quality of life." (Gold Country Media)
  4. It was a surreal scene at Roseville Road and Whyte Road in Antelope on Monday morning, as a car dangled off a rooftop there. The car was involved in an accident with at least one other vehicle. Four people were taken to the hospital. At least one victim, a juvenile, reportedly had life-threatening injuries. Initial reports said one of the vehicles involved in the accident was stolen. An investigation of what led to the crash is underway. (FOX40)
